On July 5, 2007 we walked from where we were staying on the Zambia side of Victoria Falls to see more of the falls from Zimbabwe. We walked and crossed the bridge connecting the two countries. Unfortunately at this time, Zimbabwe wasn’t a stable or safe country to we decided not to go further. We were ready to, but instead of traveling on foot, we decided to take a helicopter ride over the falls to really see more of the Zimbabwe side from a safe distance.
When we were there, the currency was so unstable and inflated it was crazy. It was devalued in 2006, 2008 and again in 2009 and there was actually a bank note with denominations up to a $100 trillion. Imagine trying to buy a bottle of water for $100 trillion Zimbabwean dollars.
I’d love to go back when safe and explore more. But here are a few of the photos
