Ukraine Part 1: Kiev…A Bad day… (June 19, 2008)

Today was not a good day.

I went out to the metro with Morgan from North Carolina and Jonathan from New Zealand to see the Caves Monastery.  As we were on the very crowded metro and talking, I was robbed  (or pickpocket).  Luckily, nothing violent happened, but it really was a bummer and happened so fast and I felt it and noticed as he was out the door and the metro was closing.  There wasn’t time to react.

All he got was my i-Touch, but  I`m really sad.  No more music, wifi,, Internet, or calendar organizer.  It was in a zipped pocket (and I normally keep everything deeper in my bag, and just left it in a outside pocket this morning) and my hand was right over it.

It seriously happened so fast and there wasn`t anything I could do once I realized it happened.  Totally sucks.

I quickly  left Morgan and Jonathan to go find an Internet cafe to change my email password so he couldn`t do anything, regarding my email account..  Luckily I was smart enough not to save any important info that needs to be canceled.

I`ve contacted my credit card to see if I have any insurance with that and also asked Steph (who is coming in 5 days) to see if can buy me a new one as I really love having it.  I tried to order it online to ship it, but it won`t get to her in time.  So if that works, great  if not, Jenny and Courtney are coming in early July and I am sure I can ship it to one of them to bring to me.  It will be fun as whoever is lucky enough to bring it to me will load on all their music so I will become a fan of that type of music and it will all be new from my old i-Tunes library.

Totally sucks (and $400 down the drain).  I wanted to share so I can get it off my chest and move on.  No use in crying over spilled milk right?
